Ralze34: Are we going to use this site for the new dynasty as well? (07/15-10:24am)
half-n-half: I still look at the records of players and coaches. I am going to go back and update the heisman winners too. Writing articles just got redundant after a while. There are only so many ways to write an article about beating the computer's ass. (04/14-9:27pm)
Ralze34: I don't think anybody uses this anymore. (04/14-1:54pm)
Ralze34: We play whenever we have a chance. Half gives us 3 days to play our game though. (12/19-10:43am)
oldgsufan: oldfart here. Got the PS3 up and running. Won my first ranked game last night. Looking forward to getting netter so I can kick yall's young butts. When do yall play? (11/24-3:16pm)
Ralze34: Can you believe this site was hacked? (11/18-10:25am)
Ralze34: half, you're slipping man! Coaches haven't been updated, no records, all-americans. I know the wedding isn't taking that much out of ya! (10/02-3:33pm)
half-n-half: I am worried about next season. My team is too stacked this year so it shouldn't matter that we have moved up to heisman. But I lose A TON after this season. I am not overly concerned about my offense, but it's my defense that scares the crap out of me! (09/29-11:08am)
Joseph: I am a bit worried about my ability to run my offense against "heisman" level CPU teams! (09/26-2:08pm)
Ralze34: Crazy day in football today. Excited to get our dynasty into the next season! (09/20-8:56pm)
Ralze34: Individual records are up, and kinda working. Like I said I'll fix everything Sunday. (09/12-4:07pm)
Joseph: i'm still checking up on things, i'd like to see passing and rushing records on the site, other than that it is GREAT! (09/11-3:57pm)
Ralze34: Has this site died while I am trying to get records working? (09/10-3:19pm)
Ralze34: I'm surprised we didn't get an article detailing the Notre Dame win over Clemson. (09/04-2:13pm)
Joe: Cool, so it's based off the server. (09/03-4:30pm)

Southern Hospitality Be Damned

Posted By: AJC on December 22, 2008, 12:21pm

Athens, Ga - The Georgia Bulldogs (3-0) welcomed Penn St. (0-2) to athens on Sunday night as the teams met for the first time since the 1983 Sugar Bowl.  In that game PSU, led by quarterback Todd Blackledge, upset the #1 ranked Bulldogs in Hershel Walker's last game and ended UGA's shot at their second national title in 3 years.  The 2012 Bulldogs exacted revenge and then some on the Nittany Lions.  After PSU jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead it was all UGA.  The Bulldogs scored 28 first quarter points on their way to a 91-30 rout of Penn St.  The Georgia offense played the best that it has all season, but that unit received plenty of help from the defense and special teams.  The UGA defense had 6 interceptions and special teams averaged almost 30 yards per punt return.

"I thought our defense played pretty good.  We forced 6 turnovers and they were only 3 of 13 on third downs.  They did score 14 junk points in the 4th quarter but the game was well in hand by then."

Offensively UGA was again led by superior quarterback play from Ali Dunn.  The QB finished 44 of 48 for 628 yards and 13 touchdowns with only 1 interception.  His favorite target was again Kevin Price who had 14 receptions for the second game in a row and added 255 yards and 6 touchdown catches.

"Offensively we played more consistant.  There were probably only 3 or 4 plays that I would like to have back.  We obviously missed Hicks in the running game but we will get that worked out.  I feel better about this team today than I did yesterday."

New Coach, Same Formula for the U

Posted By: Wreckbone on December 19, 2008, 3:36pm
Miami, Fla - The U has returned back to what put them on the map - speed. Miami threw for over 500 yards and ran for another 200 plus in a big 70-24 win over UNLV on Thursday night. Miami's defense gave up an opening TD to UNLV, but answered quickly on their first play from scrimmage took an inside handoff 64 yards for a TD. Miami's tailback ran 15 times for 171 yards and 3 TD's. But he was not the story for this game, that title belongs to the true freshman wide reciever. In his first collegiate game, he acted like a grizzled veteran going for 10 catches 410 yards and six touchdowns. He broke 3 school records and 2 NCAA records in the games (YPG, TDG and Longest TD pass in history - 98yds) Coach had this to say - "We were trying to ease him into the game, but he just kept making plays, so we kept throwing him the football." Miami did turn the ball over 4 times via the interception, but Coach attributes alot of that to the new offensive scheme. "We installed the new offense over the offseason and it was similar to what they had run last year, just a lot more checks at the line, no huddle style. Overall, I think that he handled it well." On the defensive side of the ball, Miami created 3 turnovers and had 4 sacks and held UNLV to 14 1st half points. UNLV scored the last 10 in the final few minutes against the 2nd teamers. "Defense played well, did not have to pay much attention to them, they are an experienced group." Miami has a bye week next week and then opens conference play against #13 Clemson.

Dawgs with unsatisfying win over Carolina

Posted By: AJC on December 19, 2008, 1:54pm

Columbia, SC - UGA defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks in a lopsided 84-38 defeat this afternoon, but remeniscent of former Georgia Southern coach Paul Johnson the UGA coach was not very happy with the performance.

"I've got a team that one minute looks like the New England Patriots and the next looks like Western Carolina. I've got a QB that one minute looks like Peyton Manning and the next looks like Ryan Leaf. I've got a first string defense that looks like the Pittsburgh Steelers and a second string defense that looks like the Detroit Lions. We have got to learn to play at a high level the entire game. If we can do that then we will be a good football team. If we keep making the mistakes we are making or get any injuries on defense then it could be a very frustrating year."

The frustration comes mainly from sophomore quarterback Ali Dunn. Last year Dunn was sensational as a freshman breaking the record for passing yds and td in a season. And while he is on pace to shatter both of those records this year it could still be much better. Dunn threw 3 interceptions on Friday and in all 3 occasions the WR had a good 5 yards of seperation and Dunn either underthrew or threw behind.

"We have got to figure out what is going on with Ali. Three interceptions is past unacceptable and to throw 2 of them when we are inside the opponents 10 yard line is the type of thing that will get you benched."

Dunn did finish the game 45 of 54 for 641 yards with 9 Td and 3 Int. Kevin Price was his main target as he finished with 14 receptions for 247 yards and 3 TD. UGA had started to put together a bit of a running game with Hicks as he had 42 yards on 6 carries in the first half but then he went down for the season and it is unsure what the Dawgs will do now. UGA better figure it out in a hurry though as Penn St. visits Sanford Stadium next week.

UGA Opens 2010 With Statement

Posted By: AJC on September 25, 2008, 8:08pm

Athens, GA - The Georgia Bulldogs opened up 2010 where 2009 left off...winning by a lot.  Clemson was expected to give UGA a tough test with their #6 preseason ranking but after the first quarter it was all Dawgs.  Clemson had experienced very good success the past couple years, but with their coach leaving for Oklahoma in the offseason, the uniforms were the only thing that resembled the Clemson of the past.

Matt Stafford coming off his redshirt year threw for 538 yards and 7 TD's while having only 2 incompletions.  The addition of freshmen receivers Scott Marks and Jovan Jones gave Stafford two speedsters to compliment the returning heisman winner Wright at runningback.  Wright had 66 yards rushing and 170 yards receiving.  Jones and Marks combined for over 200 yards receiving and 4 touchdowns.

The UGA defense left a little bit to be desired though.  After replacing all the linebackers the Dawgs gave up 150 yards rushing and 400 yards total to the Tigers.

"Hopefully we can figure out some things on defense between now and next week or we will be in trouble against Notre Dame.  The offense was very impressive and very efficient today.  Matt played like the 5th year senior that he is and those two freshmen receivers were very impressive."

Dawgs back on Wright Track

Posted By: AJC on September 19, 2008, 6:05am

Atlanta, Ga - The Georgia Bulldogs were seeking revenge for their only loss in the past 2 years and revenge is what they got on Thursday night over the Auburn Tigers.  Andrew Wright threw the offense over his shoulders with 120 yards rushing and another 140 yards receiving.  Joe Cox played much better than he did in the regular season matchup where he had 3 turnovers and another costly fumble.  This time Cox went 13-14 for 230 yards and 3 TD's and didn't turn the ball over.

It was the defense that stole the show from the beginning though by forcing 3 turnovers and a stop on 4th down in the first 4 Auburn possessions.  When it was all said and done the UGA defense held Auburn to 120 yards of offense and forced 5 turnovers.  The unit was out to make amends for giving up 21 points in the previous matchup and they did just that by giving up only 8 points.

UGA started the scoring with a touchdown on their first drive and after 3 impressive goaline stands by Auburn, UGA would have to settle for fieldgoals and take a 16-0 lead into the half.  UGA tacked on another touchdown early in the second half to take a 23-0 lead before Auburn got on the board with a long touchdown drive to cut the lead to 23-8 heading into the 4th quarter.  That quarter belonged to UGA though, as the Dawgs put up 21 points including a controversial 40 yard touchdown pass with 10 seconds left.

"We had to get our swagger back and start playing some UGA football after that loss to Auburn and I think we have done that.  Now we need to cap off our season with an impressive Sugar Bowl win and then turn our attention to the 2010 season."
